Meet Autumn and Grant Wilson, the owners of We Rock The Spectrum Grand Rapids! Originally Indiana natives and high school friends, they married in 2018 and moved to Michigan in 2019. Together they have their young daughter Everly. Autumn is a Registered Nurse, with a significant history of working in the Critical Care field. While Grant, is a Project Manager in retail construction. Both have a strong desire to create a space for children and families like their own to feel safe, understood, and accepted in a play environment.
Everly was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2.5. They noticed a deficit in access to resources for not only the young children on the spectrum, but for their families as well. With all the therapies used for Everly, one key component seemed to make a huge impact, PLAY! Everly has very high sensory needs. For her to understand and retain information, she needs balanced learning, play, and sensory stimulation. As this is common with many children especially those on the spectrum, We Rock is a unique place where children can play and learn together. We Rock is unique because of its open gym concept, but it also is a place where therapies and classes can be taught allowing that sensory input.
Autumn & Grant are eager to spread the mission of inclusion to families in the Grand Rapids community. They hope for WRTS – Grand Rapids to become an inclusive home where adults can connect, children can play, grow, and develop lasting relationships.
